Solera Networks Appoints Ken Saunders as Chief Financial Officer

Solera Networks, the industry’s leading Big Data Security Intelligence and Analytics provider, announced today that it has appointed Ken Saunders as chief financial officer. As CFO, Saunders will be responsible for leading all worldwide finance functions and corporate development, as well as procurement, manufacturing, facilities and information technology. Saunders, who previously served as vice president of finance for Solera since July 2012, will continue to report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Shillingford at Solera’s Salt Lake City headquarters.

“I am thrilled to have a financial executive of Ken’s caliber on the team,” said Shillingford. “He brings a wealth of international operating and financial experience that will be an immediate asset to Solera’s growth plans for the big data security and advanced threat protection market. Ken’s passion for innovation and customer success has made him a great fit for the team.”

With more than 25 years’ experience, Saunders brings to Solera Networks a wealth of knowledge in financial management, strategic planning and corporate development across various industries including engineering, investments, media and professional athletics. Prior to joining Solera Networks, Saunders served as senior vice president at S K Hart Management, where he spearheaded the company’s alternative investment management program.

Previous to Solera Networks, Saunders was CFO of Blue Line Advisors — a New York-based investment company — while also serving as interim-CFO for two of the company’s portfolio operating firms. Saunders’ career also includes positions at TNS Media Intelligence and the National Football League, including three years as COO/CFO of NFL Europe.

“Solera Networks is breaking new ground in the growing security intelligence and advanced threat detection market," Saunders said. "The innovations the company is delivering are helping to protect enterprises and organizations from those who want to do them harm. Solera Networks enables a stronger defense and response posture against today’s increasingly dangerous threats. This is fueling the phenomenal growth at Solera Networks, spanning sales, customer base, industry recognition and employees. I'm very excited to be a part of this great team and help to support the company in its market-leading expansion."
