A $5.7 million contract with Decade Software Company will provide the Los Angeles Public Health Department's Environmental Health Division with a multi-department, environmental health system, powered by Decade's EnvisionConnect Software Suite. LA County's Environmental Health Department used paper-based processes to review and track permits, inspections, and complaints intermixed with a variety of separate non-integrated applications. This impeded consolidated reporting and trend monitoring which contributed to certain operational and regulatory inefficiencies. The implementation of this project will streamline the County Environmental Health Department's business by utilizing a single, consolidated software solution as well as proven technology advancements. This effort is consistent with the County's strategic plan goal, "Workforce Excellence and Fiscal Responsibility."

Once implemented, the deployment of EnvisionConnect will fundamentally improve internal processes; businesses will find it easier to work with the division using a new online portal for applications, complaints, and payments. This effort will culminate in a modern, auditable, integrated, secure, and effective data management system that will drive LA County Environmental Health's day-to-day business and strategies as a regional leader.
