I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

ooVoo Partners With Operation Gratitude To Provide Free Premium Video Chat To Troops, Families This Holiday Season
ooVoo to Donate to the Organization for Each Free Download Through www.oovoo.com/usa

NEW YORK, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ooVoo, a fast-growing and the largest independent social video chat provider with 63 million registered subscribers announced that the company has joined with Operation Gratitude to provide free premium video chat to troops overseas, their families and supporters of the organization during the holiday season.

With the Operation Gratitude promotion, users that sign up through the special Operation Gratitude link can get one year of ooVoo's Pro subscription at no charge (a $30 value).  ooVoo Pro offers all of the advanced social and video features in the free version – including the ability to record and share video messages, connect to your Facebook friends and send IMs and share files during video chats – and adds in the ability for desktop screen sharing. This offer is open to all consumers who wish to show their support to Operation Gratitude.

ooVoo's commitment to supporting Operation Gratitude includes both software and a cash donation:

  • ooVoo is providing 40,000 cards for inclusion in Operation Gratitude care packages that give one year of ooVoo Pro Plan service to troops, their families and friends for free.
  • ooVoo is also offering supporters of Operation Gratitude the ability to get a year's worth of ooVoo Premium Plan for free through www.oovoo.com/usa as long as they sign up by  March 1, 2013.
  • For each download of ooVoo via the www.oovoo.com/usa link, ooVoo will donate 10 cents to Operation Gratitude.

Operation Gratitude is a leading non-profit, volunteer-based military and veteran support organization that annually sends 100,000+ care packages.  Filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, the packages are addressed to individually named U.S. service members deployed in harm's way as well as their children left behind, veterans, military families in financial distress due to unemployment, emergency first responders and wounded warriors recuperating in transition units.

"Connecting with those back home is powerful and we thank ooVoo for their generosity in providing free premium-level video chat for troops, their families, friends and supporters of Operation Gratitude this holiday season," said Carolyn Blashek, founder, Operation Gratitude.

ooVoo lets up to 12 friends at the same time to connect face-to-face via video, allowing friends and family to stay connected to share experiences during the holiday season and beyond. Available for PC, Mac and over 240 iOS and Android mobile devices, ooVoo brings the highest quality experience, more flexibility and a wealth of social features to subscribers for free. Preferred by 8 out of 10 video chat users, ooVoo uses a cloud-based approach for more stability and a better picture quality than other services, from anywhere duty calls.

"Bringing together friends and family is what ooVoo is all about, and ooVoo is committed to providing those away from home with the ability to be always present in each other's lives," said Jay Samit, president, ooVoo. "We are honored to be a part of Operation Gratitude's mission to comfort those away from home, and look forward to providing ooVoo Premium Plan to our troops and organization supporters for free during this giving time of the year."
