Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

New York City Plastic Surgeon Launches New, Responsive Website
Dr. Broumand Has Released a State-of-the-Art Website for His New York City Plastic Surgery Practice That Automatically Formats to Mobile Devices Including Tablets and Smartphones

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/13 -- Dr. Stafford Broumand, a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City, recently updated his practice's website to create a more dynamic and educational experience for his patients. His practice now has a "responsive" website that automatically adjusts and optimizes the layout depending upon the device patients use to access it.

The site features detailed information on a wide spectrum of procedures, including:

  • Breast augmentation
  • Eyelid Surgery
  • Facelift
  • Tummy tuck
  • CoolSculpting®
  • BOTOX® injections
  • Dermal fillers

Dr. Broumand believes the new site will improve doctor-patient communication, as patients will now be able to research the various surgical and nonsurgical procedures his practice offers whether they are at home or on-the-go. Because the site scales itself to fit a mobile device automatically, the New York City plastic surgeon says patients will have the same easy access to information from a tablet or a smartphone as they would on their home computers.

By upgrading his practice's website, Dr. Broumand hopes to show his patients his commitment to patient education, both online and in person. Whether a patient is researching a nonsurgical procedure such as Ulthera™ Skin Tightening or a surgical procedure such as liposuction, he says having a working knowledge of each procedure before the consultation process gives each patient a realistic idea of what to expect from consultation to recovery. He adds that patients who are well educated before their in-office consultation will have a better understanding of their personal goals, which will ultimately yield results that better align with their expectations.

Additionally, the new website for his New York City plastic surgery practice provides a user-friendly online experience with features such as:

  • Detailed information on each procedure offered by the practice
  • A picture gallery to offer patients a visual representation of results
  • Social media buttons for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and practice blog

In order to create the site that translates seamlessly from home computer to mobile device, Dr. Broumand teamed up with Rosemont Media, a San Diego-based medical website design firm. According to Dr. Broumand, with so many of his patients accessing medical information through the Internet, the new website should simplify the research process by delivering information that can be accessed whenever -- and wherever -- the patient chooses.
