Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Iveda Solutions, Power-All Networks Team Up for the Inter-Cloud Revolution

MESA, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/13 -- Iveda Solutions (OTCBB: IVDA) announced today that it has signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Power-All Networks' (PAN) President and Co-Founder, Steve Hui. PAN is a prominent player in the development of what has been dubbed the 'Inter-Cloud.' Foxconn, the renowned manufacturing giant in IT and consumer electronics, is the major shareholder of PAN.

Iveda Solutions President and CEO, David Ly, states that this agreement places his firm in the forefront of the next great revolution in computing. Steve Hui, President of Power-All Networks, complemented: "Video surveillance would emerge from an industry of 'site-by-site' or 'network-by-network' custom system integration to an industry of inter-networkable and inter-operable video surveillance networks across Telco, countries and even continents."

As the Internet is the 'network of networks,' the Inter-Cloud is poised to become the same to cloud-based services. It has been referred to as the 'cloud of clouds.' It is, in essence, the protocols and technologies that enable different cloud-computing services to cooperate and share resources and to greatly simplify and improve their offerings to the public. Ly believes that Iveda Solutions' customers and collaborators in the security industry "should be thrilled with the possibilities."

"Iveda Solutions will provide the world's first Video Hosting Inter-Cloud Platform for enhanced security, scalability, and flexibility," Ly elaborated.

By integrating Iveda Solutions Video Hosting technology with PAN's Inter-Cloud Computing platform, customers can now expect faster plug and play camera activations, more secure video traffic, and on demand system scalability with more functionality, for a single location needing just two to four cameras or for an enterprise having to manage thousands of locations with many critical cameras across the globe.

Iveda Solutions has been serving customers for over seven years from dedicated SAS 70 Type II certified data centers in Arizona. Its collaboration with PAN will expand the firm's video hosting points of presence to an additional ten countries with over forty Telco neutral data centers. Iveda Solutions will potentially have much more capacity in the U.S. alone because PAN is adding inter-cloud centers in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Chicago in the first quarter of this year.

Iveda Solutions' customers will continue to experience the ease, power and affordable products they have been used to, with more available and scalable functionalities such as pay-per-use (on demand) analytics or video intelligence and more affordable long term cloud storage options.

Iveda Solutions Cloud Video Platform, enhanced with the world's first embedded cloud-based poly-lithic operating system, offers exciting new possibilities to clients on many fronts.

Leveraging PAN's Virtual Facility and Virtual Client Facilities operating system, Iveda Solutions can enable a cloud environment for others within the security industry to provide cloud service offerings to their customers. Companies that may have been providing a multitude of different brands of DVRs or NVR software to their customers may now offer their customers the same interface but do away with all the hassle and expense of traditional hardware and software, since Iveda Solutions' Inter-Cloud Platform can host different applications for them.

"We continue to innovate by forging relationships with companies that share our vision of providing true cloud video hosting services that are efficient and cost effective, not only for security applications, but for a myriad of other applications such as operational efficiencies, force multiplier, and in-vehicle streaming video," Ly concluded.

Over the past year, Iveda Solutions has solidified strong relationships with titans in the IT, telecommunications, and security arenas.
