Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

DTS Releases New DTS Play-Fi™ Wireless Streaming Software for Windows® PCs

DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions, today announced its new DTS Play-Fi™ driver for Windows® PCs. DTS Play-Fi is now compatible with the world’s leading desktop and portable PC operating system, as well as the vast and growing Android portable device ecosystem. Using the simple, downloadable Windows applet, consumers can stream lossless, high-quality audio from almost any audio source on a PC to a DTS Play-Fi-enabled home audio system over a standard Wi-Fi network.

In addition, DTS is adding Internet radio to the list of streaming service options that can be implemented by OEM partners for use within their proprietary DTS Play-Fi apps. Internet radio gives users access to news, sports, music and talk radio programming, as well as popular podcasts from thousands of Internet radio stations around the globe. Phorus, a subsidiary of DTS and the makers of the PS1 tablet top speaker system and PR1 receiver, is the first DTS Play-Fi-enabled product provider to offer Internet radio as a feature within its version of the DTS Play-Fi app.

“The addition of the Windows driver just a few short months after launching with our DTS Play-Fi for Android offering earlier this fall makes the DTS Play-Fi whole-home streaming technology a true cross-platform solution,” said Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer, DTS. “At DTS, we realize that millions of consumers use their Windows PCs and laptops as music sources. Some have extensive music collections on their hard drives, others are using streaming services or rely on cloud servers; regardless of where they get their music, we believe that everyone deserves to enjoy their music over their favorite sound systems. With DTS Play-Fi, we make this possible.”

Using DTS Play-Fi technology, both the new Windows PC driver and the DTS Play-Fi app for Android, consumers can stream Hi-Fi audio directly over standard Wi-Fi networks, with bit-for-bit accuracy, to DTS Play-Fi connected speakers and receivers throughout the home. With the DTS Play-Fi Windows driver, users can stream audio from almost any music source from the computer, including subscription music services, local files, network drives, cloud services, Internet radio, or websites, directly to any DTS Play-Fi enabled speaker system. It also gives users full control of the home speaker network—allowing users to set up, link, and stream audio to one speaker system or multiple speaker systems throughout the home at once.

The DTS Play-Fi applet for Windows PCs will be available for consumers to download in Q1 2013. For more information about DTS, please visit www.dts.com, or connect with DTS on Facebook and Twitter (@DTS_Inc).
