Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Radical Studios Launches Comics Experience™ Reward for Dynamics ePlate™ Credit Card Device at 2013 CES

Radical Studios today launches at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show the Radical Comics experience™ reward for the battery-powered Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device. The innovative offering lets consumers earn Radical Comics-related products with every purchase.

When selected, the Radical Comics experience™ reward allows consumers to earn comic book images by making purchases with their Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device. As sets of images are collected, consumers can redeem the sets for items such as graphic novels, autographed lithographs, and autographed comic books.

Consumers can sign up for a battery-powered Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device at www.dynamicsinc.com/RadicalComics.

“At Radical we have always strived to be on the cutting-edge of media and technology innovation,” said Barry Levine, President of Radical Studios. “With our new Radical Comic experience™ reward, fans can now gain access to a wide variety within our catalog and earn amazing Radical items in the process.”

“Comic book enthusiasts can now enjoy exclusive content from Radical Comics using the Dynamics ePlate™ credit card device,” said Jeff Mullen, CEO of Dynamics. “Now, a simple breakfast may provide a consumer with an exclusive, autographed lithograph. A gallon of gas may provide a consumer with an exclusive, autographed Radical comic book.”

The Dynamics ePlate™ is issued by UMB Bank, n.a. Credit approval required.

How It Works

The battery-powered ePlate™ credit card device is connected to an ecosystem of experience™ providers that each deliver a unique experience™ reward to the consumer. When making a purchase, a consumer simply presses a button on his/her ePlate™ credit card device to receive the experience™ reward associated with the pressed button. At any time, a consumer may change online the experience™ rewards associated with the different buttons on his/her ePlate™ credit card device. The credit card rewards are called experience™ rewards because experience™ rewards are the first rewards to be delivered instantly, within seconds of a purchase, to the consumer. Furthermore, experience™ providers are provided with consumer-approved payments data so the rewards can be personalized to a consumer’s spending habits. The ePlate™ payment device is as durable as a traditional payment card and will last more than three years on a single battery charge. The technology does not require any change to the 60 million 1970s-era magnetic stripe readers or reeducation of its merchant base. To learn more, visit DynamicsInc.com.
