Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

SEEBURGER Receives Final ISO 27001 Certification for Cloud Services
Assures Security for SEEBURGER-Managed Business Integration Services Including EDI & MFT

ATLANTA, Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global business integration software provider SEEBURGER today announced that it has received final ISO 27001 certification for its cloud-based business integration services, ensuring that customer data hosted by SEEBURGER is handled in compliance with the leading international standard for information security management. The certification was awarded by the TÜV Rheinland Group, an accredited ISO auditor and a leading global provider of technical services.

SEEBURGER's commitment to gaining ISO 27001 certification reflects ongoing growth in the company's managed services as customers opt to outsource their electronic data interchange (EDI), managed file transfer (MFT) and other supply chain communication and document exchange requirements rather than purchasing, installing and maintaining an in-house B2B infrastructure.

The number of customers electing to deploy the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) and associated solutions as a managed service has surged by nearly 50% in the last three years as the market has continued to move to the cloud model, with more than 5,000 customers now on the company's managed services roster. Cloud services available from SEEBURGER include:

  • Managed EDI/B2B services, including data exchange (for routing supply chain transactions across any communication protocol), B2B integration (for organizations that need mapping and ERP integration as well as data exchange), Web EDI order processing (for automating communications with smaller suppliers with no EDI or ERP systems), and delivery schedule processing (for online marketplace applications).
  • Managed file transfer, enabling large and/or sensitive files of any kind to be exchanged both inside and outside the corporate firewall with full security, visibility, governance and regulatory compliance protections including encryption and a centralized audit trail, eliminating the shortcomings of conventional alternatives such as FTP and free Web-based file sharing.
  • Cloud communication services for SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS), used to ensure legally compliant exchange of data with customs authorities around the world.

"ISO 27001 is the gold standard of information security management. It signifies that a provider has a full range of physical and virtual security processes in place to maintain the integrity, privacy and availability of a customer's data," said Rohit Khanna, EVP, Global Strategy and Corporate Development, SEEBURGER. "This certification demonstrates that we consider the security of our managed services environment to be a top priority, making our cloud-based integration services a safe option for any organization that is expanding or upgrading their business integration infrastructure."

SEEBURGER managed services customers have the option to bring their e-business infrastructure in-house at any time without purchasing a completely new solution because SEEBURGER utilizes the same platform for both licensed and managed services deployments.
