SBA to Close Two Business Recovery Centers; Remaining Centers Close Jan. 21 in Observance of MLK Day

ATLANTA, Jan. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today that due to a steady decrease of activity the Business Recovery Centers located at 1 Beard Street in Brooklyn will close Saturday, Jan. 12 and another at 2350 Broad Hollow Road in Farmingdale, NY will close Sunday, Jan. 13.  In addition, the remaining Business Recovery Centers will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King's Holiday and will re-open the following day. 


The Centers that will cease operations are indicated below:

Kings County
1 Beard Street (Coney Island Room)
Brooklyn, New York 11231
Hours:   9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12
Closing:  Saturday, Jan. 12 at the close of business

Nassau County
Farmingdale State College
SBDC Training Center
2350 Broad Hollow Road
Farmingdale, NY  11735
Hours:    10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12 & Sunday, Jan. 13
ClosingSunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m.

Businesses are encouraged to visit the remaining centers for program information and one-on-one assistance in completing their applications.

The deadline to return applications for physical property damage is January 28, 2013.  The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 31, 2013.
