I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. Springbrook Software Acquires KVS Information Systems

Springbrook Software announced today the acquisition of KVS Information Systems, Inc, of Williamsville, New York, a leading provider of software solutions to local governments in the nation’s Northeast region.

“This is a great opportunity to strengthen our national presence and competitiveness in regional markets,” said Springbrook CEO Steve Rementeria. “As a result of this transaction, our portfolio has grown to include more than 700 clients from coast to coast.”

The partnership between Springbrook and KVS will provide local governments across the United States with world-class integrated software products for finance, utility billing and Springbrook’s new cloud-based ERP solution for local governments — the first of its kind. “We are very excited to include KVS’s tax products to our core offerings, as this will make Springbrook an even more attractive option in many geographic regions,” added Rementeria.

Post-acquisition, all KVS employees and management will retain their current positions and KVS’s president, Ed Warnke, will continue to lead KVS as an independent division of Springbrook.

“The decision to team with Springbrook means our clients will have a broader range of products and solutions,” says Warnke. “Springbrook’s level of service and expertise in the industry is what our clients expect.”

The deal between KVS and Springbrook, both privately held companies, closed on December 31, 2012.
