Pizza Pizza Launches iPad App; Extends Its Webby Award-Winning App Recipe to iPad Platform

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/15/13 -- Pizza Pizza has announced the launch of its first mobile ordering app for the iPad platform, a follow up to its award-winning iPhone app. The company believes this latest app sets the standard for mobile pizza ordering and will help it continue to earn a greater slice of the growing mobile ordering market in Canada.

"Our mobile and web-based business is growing rapidly," said Paul Goddard, CEO at Pizza Pizza. "This growth is fueled by our commitment to provide our convenience-oriented and tech savvy customers with smart solutions that suit their busy lives. I could not be more proud of our team for having developed such a customer-driven solution."

The new iPad app, another first in Canada for its category, includes the most elaborate "pizza builder" available on the market, a highly visual tool that allows viewers to see dynamic representations of their pizza creations. The app also features "Spin-to-Win", a game that appears at the end of the ordering process granting users two chances to spin and win a free menu item that can be added to a customer's next order.

"Ordering through our mobile channels is fun, intuitive and fast but, more importantly, it's simple," said Pat Finelli, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Pizza. "Our customers place great importance on ordering convenience. They want the power to choose how, what and when they order, and to do so in the quickest and easiest way possible. This new app gives them that, and more."

The iPad app is the latest in a long list of technological developments and milestones at Pizza Pizza that includes a recently redesigned website with richer content and more interactive features and being the first national chain to introduce debit-to-your-door payment technology, computerized order-taking system and central telephone centre.
