MORRISTOWN, N.J., Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DataMotion (www.datamotion.com), a health information service provider (HISP) offering secure data delivery services, today announced it will participate in the Interoperability Showcase Demonstration at the East Tennessee HIMSS Conference on January 17, 2013. The real-time demonstration will show how data from a clinical use case can easily move between electronic health record (EHR) systems and seamlessly interoperate with HISPs, allowing for secure data delivery and compliance with Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120413/NE87365LOGO) DataMotion, a long-established, global cloud-based secure data delivery provider, expanded its company's focus as a HISP last year with the introduction of DataMotion Direct, a secure data transfer service that enables organizations of all sizes to meet real-world communications needs. Through its secure data delivery functionality, DataMotion Direct helps healthcare organizations protect patient information, comply with Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements, easily integrate with the Direct Project, and qualify for financial subsidies from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT – all important priorities in the industry today. With a theme of "Connected Healthcare – a View of the New Reality," the East Tennessee HIMSS Conference will bring together attendees from healthcare providers and technology companies across Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky. The Interoperability Showcase Demonstration, which will transform the notion of secure data delivery from theory into practice, will feature DataMotion and other healthcare leaders, including Allscripts™, Cerner®, IGI Health and Optum™/Axolotl. "With data breaches dominating headlines and new healthcare regulations emerging on a seemingly daily basis, it's understandable that many organizations feel overwhelmed by security and compliance," said Bob Janacek, DataMotion's co-founder and chief technology officer. "But, with the technology available today, securing data at rest and in-motion doesn't have to be complicated. This demonstration will clearly show that secure data delivery and compliance is attainable, and doesn't require a huge IT budget and staff. We will be clearly marking the path to the future – one in which even the smallest of organizations can protect patient data and comply with industry regulations, ensuring the Direct Project realizes its full potential." The Interoperability Showcase Demonstration is scheduled for January 17 at 2:30 p.m. ET. The East Tennessee HIMSS Conference is being held at the Falls Banquet and Conference Center in Knoxville.
