I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Raycom Sports Engages T3Media for Cloud-Based Video Library Management

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/24/13 -- T3Media, Inc. (formerly Thought Equity Motion), a leading provider of cloud-based video management and licensing services, announced today that Raycom Sports is now utilizing its T3 Library Manager product for web-based access to its library of ACC football and men's basketball content.

"With T3 Library Manager we are able to extract more value from our video archive and better support our ongoing production needs," said Chad Swofford, Senior Director, New Media and Business Development for Raycom Sports. "The product enables ACC Network producers to locate archived ACC moments within seconds, preview a web version of the content, make edits online, and download the edited footage they need directly into tools like Avid Media Composer. This saves our production teams from having to spend hours and even days sorting through assets and waiting for full-length games to download before they can clip out the content they need."

Raycom Sports is using T3 Library Manager to integrate ACC archival video into the ACC Network's productions, including live television broadcasts, original programs, and mobile applications. Additionally, T3Media is storing the ACC men's basketball and football library for Raycom Sports and providing dual-site backup, in which one copy is stored at Raycom Sports' facility and an identical copy is also stored at T3Media's data center in Wyoming.

"Our storage offering and library management tools allow Raycom Sports to focus on what it is known for -- creating compelling college sports digital experiences," said Kevin Schaff, CEO & Founder of T3Media. "We've created a custom ingest workflow that migrates current season content from the Avid ISIS and makes it accessible in T3 Library Manager. At the end of the season this frees up production capacity for Raycom Sports so they don't have the expense of expanding the local networked storage but still have immediate access to their entire archive."
