SParikh wrote: This article speaks true to the importance and capitalizing of the cloud. Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Symform Brings in New Leadership
It's counting on further global expansion

Symform, the distributed cloud backup service, has a new CEO.

The recent incumbent, Matthew Schiltz, is, as they say, "pursuing new opportunities," replaced by the company's original backer Mark Ashida, former managing director of OVP Venture Partners and a Symform board member.

The announcement says the Symform board executive team "agreed to leadership adjustments to execute on its aggressive 2013 plan and support the company's long-term vision." Its mission is to build the world's largest virtual data center and cloud storage network. Ashida is supposed to strengthen the company's management team and drive continued momentum of its Cloud Storage Network focusing on small business and prosumers.

It has hired 13-year Microsoft veteran - he was once GM of .NET responsible for web services, XML, communications, workflow, transactions, data access, and modeling - and later co-founder of BuiltSteady - Omri Gazitt, as senior VP of product development.

Gazitt is supposed to work closely with CTO and co-founder Bassam Tabbara to accelerate Symform's innovation and product delivery.

It's also got a new head of global sales and business development Bob DeSantis out of DocuSign, where he established its European presence.

Symform is counting on further global expansion. Last year it was represented in 160 countries and had seven billion data fragments stored in its distributed cloud network, while securing partnerships with three of the leading network-attached storage vendors NetGear, QNAP and Synology, who together shipped over 40% of entry-level NAS units globally, according to Gartner.

The company also wants to strengthen its strategic OEM and private label partnerships.

Ashida said "the company is attracting top-tier talent and I'm committed to creating a leadership team that will accelerate our growth as we capitalize on a tremendous market opportunity."
