Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Empirix Delivers Service Assurance for Wireless Vehicle Solutions

Empirix today announced enhancements to its Empirix E-XMS service assurance platform for monitoring telematics solutions, including those that enable emergency notifications, remote vehicle diagnostics, wireless dashboard services and “MyCar” smartphone apps. By leveraging Empirix E-XMS’s advanced troubleshooting capabilities, operators can quickly pinpoint, diagnose and understand service delivery issues in these highly complex environments. With this offering, service providers gain an important level of assurance for an emerging class of wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions that promise to enhance the in-vehicle experience and improve driving performance.

“The growing momentum in M2M generally, including M2M for automotive, has opened up new opportunities for service providers worldwide,” according to Gartner. “M2M is typically an enabling technology; it is integrated into existing applications that were developed without reference to eventual integration and support of cellular technology.”*

Empirix helps service providers mitigate the complexities inherent in assuring multi-system, data-intensive mobile solutions. Empirix E-XMS is a high-capacity, carrier-grade solution capable of monitoring the vast amount of operator-to-manufacturer-to-vehicle communications that power telematics. For a complete understanding of user experience, Empirix analyzes both network and application performance, including support emergency service requests, vehicle health checks and smartphone-enabled solutions for remote start, lock or unlock. Empirix E-XMS also assures a growing class of in-vehicle and driving-relevant solutions, such as navigation, parts purchasing, media downloads and more.

By providing end-to-end visibility along with the ability to drill deeply into any performance issue, Empirix helps companies quickly diagnose a wide range of problems. It includes broad support for mobile, WiFi, datacom and IP protocols as well as the NGTP 2.0 standard created by the Next Generation Telematics Pattern consortium.

“Many of the leading mobile service providers we work with are leveraging their technical assets and developing new solutions optimized to deliver superior service quality. Wireless vehicle solutions are a great example,” said Steve Kish, director of product management at Empirix. “Unlike supporting an app downloaded to a smartphone, telematics solutions span multiple applications, data sources and network environments. This complexity makes problems difficult to isolate and the performance measure requires an innovative approach. Our customers requested an assurance and analytics solution to rapidly diagnose issues with these communications and we delivered.”

The Empirix E-XMS solution is part of the Empirix Systems Architecture (ESA). ESA unifies the company’s industry-leading testing and monitoring technologies with predictive analytics and business intelligence capabilities and empowers customers to take a modular approach to their deployments. This flexible, integrated solution enables companies to easily add new capabilities, as well as leverage their existing infrastructure investments, to increase the availability of critical systems, delight customers and drive revenue growth.
