Upgrade of Managed 10Gb Waves to 100Gb Boosts Capacity for Business and Residential Services

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 02/05/13 -- Sidera Networks, the leading provider of tailored, high-capacity communications services to large enterprise, carrier and data center customers, announces that it has upgraded MetroCast's 10Gb connections between Rochester, NH and Boston, MA as well as Ashburn, VA and Leonardtown, MD with 100Gb capacity connections. MetroCast is a top-20 multi-system operator serving over 200 communities throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi.

Sidera not only currently provides multiple 10Gb backbone connections to MetroCast, but also will now provide 100Gb transport connectivity to peering points in Ashburn, VA and Boston, MA. The upgrade of MetroCast's network to 100Gb provides the capacity to serve its residential and business video, Internet and voice subscribers, as well as Enterprise clients who are served through a suite of Metro Ethernet products, including Dedicated Internet Access, Point-to-Point/Point-to-Multi-Point, and Digital Business Trunking.
