Agari, revolutionizing email security through its innovative cloud-based services, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of DMARC, an industry collaboration which increases email trust, by announcing unprecedented adoption of DMARC’s new technical model by flagships of the US economy: the largest bank in the United States, the largest Internet Commerce payments processing firm, the most admired consumer electronics brand in the world, the three most popular social media sites and one of the world’s largest shipping and logistics companies, among other corporations that value customer trust.
As a founding contributor to the standard, Agari has implemented and accelerated DMARC’s security framework with a big data platform that processes and interprets raw DMARC data, protecting more than 2.3 billion email messages daily for some of the world’s most renowned companies.
“Together with DMARC, we now have the ability to be proactive in combating phishing attacks before they occur, something that is especially important for ecommerce, financial services and banking institutions,” said Patrick Peterson, Agari founder and CEO. “An attack against these types of industries not only puts the customers at risk, but can also result in millions of dollars in potential company liability and erosion of brand value. It is time for every company who cares about protecting consumers to join Agari’s leading customers to take advantage of this technology to reduce their risks, increase their reputations, keep their revenues up and eliminate fraud.”
DMARC, which stands for Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance, was created by a group of organizations including Agari, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo! and JP Morgan Chase to reduce the potential for email–based abuse. DMARC standardizes how email receivers perform email authentication using the SPF and DKIM mechanisms and has been widely adopted by email providers, currently protecting 60-percent of the world’s online mailboxes.
