Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Verdasys Positioned in the “Leaders” Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention

Verdasys, provider of Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) solutions and managed services for Global 2000 and mid-sized companies, announced today it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Leaders” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention (DLP).1 Verdasys is the only vendor to offer a data protection platform capable of addressing all three generations of DLP 3.0, including compliance, insider threat and cyber threat defense.

A new Verdasys whitepaper released today, "DLP 3.0: Meeting Today's Data Protection Challenges," takes an in-depth look at how organizations can implement an effective DLP 3.0 defense, securing sensitive data from a constantly evolving threat environment. It is available via free download by clicking here.

Gartner defines content-aware DLP technologies as those that, as a core function, perform content inspection of data at rest or in motion, and can execute responses — ranging from simple notification to active blocking — based on policy settings. This is different from non-content-aware DLP solutions, which apply a policy without reviewing the content or context of what is being monitored. Magic Quadrant vendors must also be determined by Gartner to be significant players in the market because of market presence or technology innovation.

Digital Guardian®, the only DLP solution also available as a turn-key managed service, is unique in offering the only data protection platform capable of addressing compliance, insider threat and cyber threat defense in a single, integrated platform. This enables the broadest use case coverage at the lowest entry cost. Digital Guardian is used to protect data across more than 2 million systems for over 245 customers worldwide. The company announced last month worldwide delivery of the Verdasys Managed Service for Information Protection (MSIP), the first cloud-based managed service for protecting sensitive data, while enabling secure collaboration in today's mobile business environments.

"Our customers have told us we must simplify deployment and operational management of our data protection platform, policies and controls while increasing use case coverage to differentiate in an industry that has become ineffective and mired in disjointed and increasingly costly disparate systems," said Jim Ricotta, Verdasys CEO. "Our experience working with the world's leading companies to deploy successful enterprise information protection technology, methodology and process is further enabling us to help an even broader customer base protect sensitive information even more cost effectively."
