Long Island Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine 2013 Brings Top Performers to Long Island Wineries

RIVERHEAD, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/13 -- LONG ISLAND WINTERFEST: JAZZ ON THE VINE returns from February 9 to March 17, 2013 when you can enjoy six great weekends of truly exceptional jazz performances in Long Island, NY winery tasting rooms.

This year's program includes more than 70 performances at 19 participating Long Island wineries. Admission at each concert ($20 per person) includes a glass of wine (21 and older) and a chance to win a free hotel stay.

"The East End of Long Island is a great place to hear world class music," said Pat Snyder, Executive Director of East End Arts (EEA). "The talent scheduled for this year is amazing; our musicians are from the East End, across the country and abroad."

The Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine series features a full line up of top-level performers, including many Grammy recipients and Grammy-nominated artists. Multiple musical performances are scheduled each of the six weekends so visitors can plan to attend multiple winery concerts each day.

Jazz on the Vine weekend concerts are combined with nearly 100 other special Winterfest offers from area transportation companies, B&Bs, hotels, restaurants and attractions.

"Visitors to the Jazz on the Vine concerts can combine their love of great jazz music with a Long Island getaway," said Kristen Matejka, director of marketing at the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (LICVB).

Visit the Long Island Winterfest website to get the latest information on events and offers.

2013 Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine events are organized by EEA, the Long Island Wine Council (LIWC), the LICVB, with support from Suffolk County, under the auspices of the Office of Film & Cultural Affairs.

"Our sixth annual Long Island Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine program will be the best yet, with an outstanding line-up of musicians performing in winery tasting rooms," said Steve Bate, Executive Director of the LIWC.

Conceived in 2006, the program is well on its way to becoming a regional and national attraction. Winterfest: Jazz on the Vine was given the prestigious 2012 NATIONAL ARTS DESTINATION MARKETING AWARD by Americans for the Arts and Destination Marketing International.
