Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Dell Boomi Partners with Wipro to Accelerate ‘Cloud-First’ Enterprise IT Strategy

Dell Software today announced that Dell Boomi, the world’s largest integration cloud, and Wipro Technologies, the Global Information Technology, Consulting and Outsourcing business of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT), have partnered to enable enterprises with a “Cloud-First” IT strategy to accelerate their on-demand agility and ability to painlessly scale operations. In related news, Dell Software also announced that Dell Boomi consistently exceeds more than 1 million on-premise and cloud-managed integration processes per day.

CIOs are mandating that IT organizations include cloud in their IT strategy. Over the last few years, the main deployment model was on-premise, as cloud was viewed as not yet mature. As a result, Dell Boomi tracked that up 72 percent of application integration processes were executed on-premise and up to 28 percent in the cloud. With the exponential growth in technology advances in this past year, that number dramatically shifted with up to 58 percent executed on-premise and up to 42 percent in the cloud.

“Enterprises are looking for an affordable and fast on-ramp to cloud computing that will drive IT efficiency, connect their existing on-premise applications and data assets to those in the cloud, all while lowering capital expenditures,” said Robert Mahowald, research vice president, SaaS and Cloud Services, IDC. “Through this partnership Dell Boomi and Wipro will bring these capabilities to Wipro’s global customer base to optimize their investment in IT integration, management and services and help ensure their success as they incorporate cloud in their IT strategies."

“Through this partnership, Wipro’s Business Integration practice will continue to address the growing need of holistic integration services for customers in this era of rising adoption of cloud-based technologies and applications,” said Bhanumurthy B M, senior vice president, Wipro Technologies. “By leveraging a comprehensive set of cloud integration solutions and services, we enable our customers to gain a competitive advantage and achieve improved results.”

Wipro, with its in-depth industry and technology expertise, can deliver true multi-directional dynamism, and enable businesses to realize the transformative potential of cloud computing across Business Processes (BPaaS), Business Applications (SaaS), Middleware (PaaS) and its underlying Infrastructure (IaaS).

“With the move to cloud computing growing exponentially, CIOs and IT organizations are looking for ways to manage and integrate applications without the cost and complexity associated with enterprise offerings,” said Rick Nucci, founder and general manager, Dell Boomi. “Working with Wipro as a solution partner allows us to help IT organizations simplify the move to cloud computing through easy integration with existing enterprise IT environments and offer unparalleled value to enterprise customers.”
