Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Dialog Semiconductor Wins Third Samsung Smartphone Platform for Power Management and Audio Technologies

Dialog Semiconductor plc(FWB: DLG), a provider of highly integrated power management, audio and short range wireless technologies, announced today that Samsung has adopted the company's power management and ultra low power audio technology for a third global smartphone platform. Dialog's DA2083 power management IC (PMIC) with integrated audio functionality is being used in the new range of entry- to mid-level Samsung Galaxy Fame smartphone models, GT-S6810, that are due to start shipping globally from Q1 2013.

Dialog's fully configurable, single chip DA2083 power management and low power audio technology delivers significant board space savings, allows thinner external inductive components to be used, while delivering performance benefits to the Samsung design. The device integrates a total of over thirty different power supply domains and analog functions on a single chip, which is enabling Samsung to design a series of more power efficient and thinner smartphones.

Dr Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog said: 'We've continued to work closely with Samsung and ensure our PMICs combine our most advanced, energy-efficient technologies with best-in-class audio to enable a superior user experience. This third smartphone platform win with Samsung is a powerful endorsement of Dialog's technology and we're committed to furthering our relationship with the addition of more platform wins in the future.'

The Galaxy Fame is powered by a 1GHz processor, runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), includes a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT touchscreen and is powered by a 1300mAh battery. 3G, Wi-Fi and AGPS modes are also included. Several models and regional variants of the smartphone platform are being made available.

Dialog already provided PMICs for the Samsung's S5368 and Galaxy Pocket S5300 smartphones.
