(the "Company" or the "Jean Coutu Group") (TSX: PJC.A) wishes to remind the public that its Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders will be held on Tuesday September 19, 2006, at 9:30 am ET at the head office of the Company, 551 Beriault Street, Longueuil, Quebec. The Meeting will also be webcast on the corporate website at www.jeancoutu.com. Representatives of the Jean Coutu Group will meet the press after the Meeting.
