Hosted Solutions (www.hostedsolutions.com), a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of managed
hosting and data center services, has acquired Boston
Datacenters, Inc., Charlestown,
Massachusetts.
Privately-held Hosted Solutions also runs three SAS 70 Type II
certified data centers, located in Charlotte, Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina.
In addition to continuing to provide managed hosting and colocation services to
Boston Datacenter customers, the company will offer expanded capabilities, including
dedicated servers, managed storage, managed load balancing, business continuity
and managed security services.
The acquisition expands geographic data management options
for Boston Datacenter’s customers, who rely on Boston Datacenters to provide
100 percent availability of managed hosted data, as well as colocation and a
variety of data center support services. It also brings one of the fastest
growing East Coast managed service providers into the Boston
area and will provide New England companies
with one of the only facilities able to handle the power and cooling needs of a
wide range of companies.
The technical infrastructure of the Boston location, one of
the few managed hosting datacenters nationally to be located on two power
grids, will be interconnected with Hosted Solutions’ North Carolina sites at
the network core. Hosted Solutions, which plans to retain personnel in the Boston datacenter, also
has announced plans to enhance the local infrastructure and implement streamlined
operational processes to support customer requirements.
