"By building our products on the widely-used Eclipse platform we have been able to realize our vision of enabling cross- platform, heterogeneous access to the newest generation of development tools from Microsoft. We are proud to formally become a member of the vibrant Eclipse ecosystem." The Teamprise Client Suite enables software development teams to use the source code control, work item tracking, and reporting features of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server from within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE), and from other operating systems, including Linux and Mac OS X. Implemented in Java, Teamprise will run on operating systems that support a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4 or newer. Using the Teamprise Client Suite in conjunction with Visual Studio 2005 Team System, enterprise companies can now standardize on the use of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server for the Application Life-Cycle Management needs of both their .NET and Java development teams. "It is great to see an innovative Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner join the Eclipse Foundation and to help link the top two development platforms together," said Mike Millinkovich, executive director at the Eclipse Foundation. "With its ability to reach a wide range of developers in the enterprise and its expertise in developer tools, Teamprise will certainly help further the goals of the Eclipse community." Demo at EclipseCon 2007 Attendees of EclipseCon 2007 will have a chance to see a live demonstration of the Teamprise plug-in for Eclipse accessing Microsoft's Team Foundation Server. Corey Steffen from Teamprise and William Salazar from Microsoft will present the demonstration using the new Teamprise 2.1 release on Tuesday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. as part of the annual Eclipse conference.
