SYS-CON Events announced today the Containers & Microservices Bootcamp, being held November 3-4, 2015, in conjunction with 17th Cloud Expo,@ThingsExpo, and @DevOpsSummit at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
This is your chance to get started with the latest technology in the industry. Combined with real-world scenarios and use cases, the Containers and Microservices Bootcamp, led by Janakiram MSV, a Microsoft Regional Director, will include presentations as well as hands-on demos and comprehensive walkthroughs.
Containerization and microservices are the hottest trends in the world of distributed computing. They are revolutionizing the way software is designed, developed and deployed. The container phenomenon is impacting architects, developers and system administrators. From large cloud providers to enterprises to startups, every player in the ecosystem is impacted by the container revolution. The rise of containers is driving the adoption of microservices. Emerging technologies like Docker, rkt, LXD, and Hyper-V Containers are making it easy for developers and SysOps professionals to utilize container technology in their microservices architecture.
He will introduce you to Docker and its dynamic ecosystem. You will understand how the microservices architecture is different from current distributed computing models. We will show you how to design, develop and deploy microservices on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. With dedicated sessions for Amazon EC2 Container Services, AWS Lambda, Google Container Engine and Microsoft Service Fabric, this Bootcamp covers the entire spectrum of microservices.
You will get a thorough overview of the orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Mesosphere, Flocker and Docker Swarm. The immersive two-day workshop will provide you with everything you wanted to know about microservices.

About the Instructor
He is a Microsoft Regional Director for Hyderabad, India. He is one of the first few Microsoft Certified Azure Professionals in India. He is also one of the first few professionals with Amazon Certified Solution Architect, Amazon Certified Developer and Amazon Certified SysOps Administrator credentials. He is recognized by Google as the Google Developer Expert (GDE) for his contribution to the Cloud community.
Janakiram is a contributor at Forbes covering cloud computing, DevOps and IoT. He was a Senior Analyst with the Gigaom Research analyst network where he analyzed the Cloud Services landscape. He is a Guest Faculty at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H) where he teaches Cloud Computing, Containers, Big Data, DevOps to the students enrolled for the Masters course.
He has worked at world-class product companies including Microsoft Corporation, Amazon Web Services and Alcatel-Lucent. His last role was with Amazon Web Services as the Technology Evangelist where he joined them as the first employee in India. The @DevOpsSummit at Cloud Expo - to be held November 3-5, 2015, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California - will expand the DevOps community, enable a wide sharing of knowledge, and educate delegates and technology providers alike. Recent research has shown that DevOps dramatically reduces development time, the amount of enterprise IT professionals put out fires, and support time generally. Time spent on infrastructure development is significantly increased, and DevOps practitioners report more software releases and higher quality.

DevOps Summit Power Panel | Balancing the Three Pillars of DevOps
In this @DevOpsSummit Power Panel - moderated by Andi Mann (founder of @Sageable) - Shannon Williams, co-founder of Rancher Labs; Haseeb Budhani, co-founder and CEO of Soha; and Dalibor Siroky, Director and co-founder atPlutora; discussed how to balance these three pillars of DevOps, where to focus attention (and resources), where organizations might slip up with the wrong focus, how to manage change and risk in all three areas, what is possible and what is not, where to start, and especially how new structures, processes, and technologies can help drive a new DevOps culture.
Microservices & IoT Power Panel at @DevOpsSummit
In this Power Panel at @DevOpsSummit, moderated by Jason Bloomberg, president of Intellyx, panelists Roberto Medrano, Executive Vice President atAkana; Lori MacVittie, Evangelist for F5 Networks; and Troy Topnik, ActiveState's Technical Product Manager; and Otis Gospodnetić, founder ofSematext; peeled away the buzz and discuss the important architectural principles behind implementing IoT solutions for the enterprise. As remote IoT devices and sensors become increasingly intelligent, they become part of our distributed cloud environment, and we must architect and code accordingly. At the very least, you'll have no problem filling in your buzzword bingo cards.
Containers & Microservices Expo To Be Colocated with @DevOpsSummit Silicon Valley, November 3-5, 2015 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, CA
Containers and microservices have become topics of intense interest throughout the cloud developer and enterprise IT communities.
Microservices focuses on the business and technology of the software architecture design pattern, in which complex applications are composed of small, independent processes communicating with each other using language-agnostic APIs.
Containers are not being considered for the first time by the cloud community, but a current era of re-consideration has pushed them to the top of the cloud agenda.
Rather than just stuff an OS into a container, for example, developers and deployers should consider a spectrum of microservices and what they can do.
