Web Age Solutions to Present at SOA World Conference & Expo
Successful SOA adoption depends upon following successful patterns and avoiding common anti-patterns
Jun. 2, 2007 10:00 PM
Kyle Gabhart, SOA Lead with Web Age Solutions, will be presenting “Service Oriented Patterns and Anti-patterns” at the 11th International SOA World 2007 Conference & Expo in New York City, June 25-27, 2007.
Mr. Gabhart will speak at the Roosevelt Hotel in midtown
Manhattan, addressing a mixed audience of technical practitioners and business strategists. The momentum behind service-oriented systems is intense and the hype machine is in full swing. Consequently, it is tempting to believe that if you wrap your enterprise systems with Web service adapters, you will be able to cash in on the service-oriented ROI. “The reality,” says Gabhart, “is that there are right ways and wrong ways to adopt service-oriented architecture.”
In this session, attendees will explore human patterns and anti-patterns surrounding SOA adoption as well as technology patterns and anti-patterns. Although in many areas SOA is still maturing and changing, we have learned enough about how to “do SOA right” that sound guidance can be provided with respect to how to successfully adopt SOA. “We may not know exactly what the federated service security stack will look like in two years,” notes Gabhart, “but we can speak with confidence in the area of successful and unsuccessful SOA adoption strategies.”
SOA World 2007 is the 11th successive international Conference and Expo produced by SYS-CON Events devoted to SOA, Web Services, and related topics. The event offers something for everyone, from developers and architects, to IT managers, CTOs, and CIOs. Anyone who is currently working with or planning on working with SOA will find three days of essential SOA information covering multiple aspects of this fast-emerging style of loosely coupled information systems architecture.
In addition to Mr. Gabhart, speakers will include service-oriented thought leaders from around the world and the Conference program will be complemented by a full Expo floor featuring the world’s leading suppliers of software and professional services.
The full, expanded five-track program includes tracks on “Web 2.0/AJAX and SOA,” “Tools & Frameworks,” “Interoperability,” “Real-World SOA” and “Enterprise Open Source.”
Topics covered will include ESBs, Capability Modeling, “Outside-In” SOA, BPEL 2.0, Service-Oriented Modeling and Architecture, REST and RSS, Semantic Web, SOA Governance, The Internet as a Global SOA, Security Issues, Message-Oriented Middleware, and more.
