LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/25/07 -- Network Foundation Technologies, LLC (NFT) is partnering with the Mixed Martial Arts league Total Fighting Alliance (TFA) to broadcast, free of charge, TFA's "War on the Shore" event live over the Internet to fans worldwide. This Free-For-View(TM) event, which is to be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 6 pm to 9 pm (Pacific Daylight Savings Time) at the Santa Monica Civic Center, promises to be a world class spectacular event viewable anywhere in the world where a fight fan has an Internet connection and a computer. Fans can download the event player now at www.totalfighting.net to watch pre-match interviews. According to TFA's Director of Operations, Richard Rasmussen, "TFA's free of charge broadcast of 'War on the Shore' with no blackouts to fans worldwide is a first in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. While Pay-Per-View broadcasts are relatively commonplace for leagues like the IFL and the UFC, the TFA and Network Foundation Technologies will be breaking new ground with this event by giving it away for free to fight fans the world over." Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA as it is known to fans, has experienced rapid growth over the past few years. MMA events are well-suited to online broadcasting, as their major demographic is males 18-36, the demographic most likely to be online. NFT President and Co-Founder Marcus Morton noted, "The ability for sporting organizations, like the TFA, to broadcast events live throughout the world with our patented technology, empowers them to dramatically expand their audience size. We are pleased to work with the Total Fighting Alliance to bring their 'War on the Shore' event to MMA fans across the globe." Rasmussen added, "TFA's 'War on the Shore' event is a major production. In addition to the cage matches and other attractions here in Santa Monica, we will have a full six camera shoot in place, so that the hardcore fans don't miss any of the action, no matter where in the world they are located." When asked how big the global audience for this MMA event may be, Morton responded, "Our online broadcast of the Barksdale Air Force Base 'Defenders of Liberty' Air Show last weekend, which featured the world renowned Thunderbirds, was viewed by thousands of people from all over the world -- 15 different countries to be exact." Morton continued, "So for this event; when you look at the popularity of a league like the TFA; the popularity of these fighters; the fact that this is the first time that two title fights will be seen for free over the open Internet; and you put all that together with our proprietary patented technology -- well it's going to be one show you don't want to miss." About Total Fighting Alliance Total Fighting Alliance (TFA) is proud to hold the distinction of being the first organization granted a permanent license to promote Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the state of California. In December of 2005, MMA finally became legal in California and TFA has been involved from the outset in the organization and promotion of MMA events. MMA combines the elements of kickboxing, ju-jitsu, wrestling, tae kwon do, karate, aikido, judo and kung fu to create an explosive high-energy event for its fans. Please visit www.totalfighting.net.
