eXcelon Leads OSS Through Java Workgroup on Massive Scalability

(May 3, 2002) - eXcelon Corporation has met the criteria to become a member of the OSS through Java? Initiative, an industry group charged with developing J2EE? and XML technology-based standards for telecommunications industry OSS (Operational Support Systems). In addition, eXcelon will lead an OSS through Java workgroup focusing on deployment strategies to achieve "Massive Scalability."

Building on the success of J2EE and XML technologies in enterprise applications and e-commerce, the OSS through Java Initiative is chartered to develop innovative, industry-specific APIs that speed the development of new OSS solutions designed to help telecommunications service providers. The OSS through Java Initiative, led by Sun Microsystems, includes industry leading companies such as BEA, Ericsson, MetaSolv, Motorola, NEC, Nortel Networks, Nokia, Telcordia Technologies, Borland, Component Insights, eXcelon Corporation, PWC Consulting, Agilent, Cygent, Digital Fairway, Eftia, PrismTech, and TeleGea.

eXcelon is leading the "Massive Scalability" workgroup within the Initiative. This workgroup is tasked with delivering OSS deployment strategies focusing on the tremendous scalability and performance demands of the telecommunications industry.
