(October 29, 2002) - Openwave Systems Inc. has formed alliances with key wireless data partners Digital Bridges, End2End, InfoSpace, IN-FUSIO, and MForma as part of the newly announced Openwave® Mobile Connect Program. Openwave Mobile Connect, the newest leg of the Openwave Developer Network, gathers and feeds a variety of Java and multimedia content and services to the Openwave Mobile Data Infrastructure Platform, providing an end-to-end mobile solution including J2ME applications, games, ring tones, images, and more, on mobile devices. The Openwave® Mobile Browser has now shipped on more than 300 million handsets worldwide. This year alone Openwave expects to ship over 100 million copies of its browser software. Openwave estimates that it has approximately 60 percent market share of all mobile browsers that are shipped worldwide -- with close to 97 percent share in the US, 25 percent in Japan and about 54 percent market share in Europe.
