Quest Software's PerformaSure 2.0 Brings Multi-Tier J2EE Performance Diagnostics to Live Production Systems
Quest Software's PerformaSure 2.0 Brings Multi-Tier J2EE Performance Diagnostics to Live Production Systems

(February 6, 2003) - Quest Software, Inc. has just released PerformaSure 2.0, with new ultra low-overhead agents that bring transactional J2EE performance diagnostics to systems running in production. Extending PerformaSure's Tag and Follow diagnostic capabilities to production systems means enterprises can now analyze live end-user transactions across all tiers in a distributed environment, accelerating problem resolution and minimizing downtime of critical systems.

PerformaSure 2.0 key features include:

  • Component-level instrumentation, which gathers high level transaction execution data with minimal performance impact on the running production system
  • Support for BEA WebLogic 5.1
  • Automatic sampling and improved data collection throughput
  • Enhanced JMS instrumentation, improved filtering, and new reporting capabilities

PerformaSure 2.0's new production-grade agents can now be deployed on production servers with virtually no effect on performance. PerformaSure agents incur negligible overhead when not collecting performance data, and as little as 5 percent overhead when collecting a performance metrics session.

PerformaSure's Tag and Follow technology reconstructs the execution path of end user transactions, highlighting performance hotspots to accelerate root cause diagnosis of unacceptable e-business response times. Operations, development and QA teams can then focus enhancements on just those components that genuinely impact the customer experience. When the application code is at fault, JProbe provides the next level of detail, pinpointing hotspots from the method down to the line of code.

Sitraka, developer of PerformaSure, was recently acquired by Quest Software, Inc. Quest Software?s PerformaSure 2.0 will be available March 2003, with pricing starting at $25,000 for a base license. To learn more, visit
