Inttegra Selects eNGENUITY Technologies' JLOOXTelecom to Develop Network Cockpit Software

(March 24, 2003) - Inttegra has selected JLOOXTelecom from eNGENUITY Technologies Inc. to build their Network Cockpit Platform, a complete management console for combining network supervision, provisioning, monitoring, and business processes management. JLOOXTelecom offers a wide range of interactive visual components to easily create network management interfaces. The ability to quickly bring to market a visual application in Java, without having to invest heavily in development resources and expertise in this area, was an important motivator for Inttegra.

"By using JLOOXTelecom we saved an estimated six months of development time, which was really outstanding given our extremely tight schedule," said Marcelo Navarro, Inttegra's head of development. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a key component of a management console. It provides intuitive access to all the services available in the platform and offers easy-to-understand visual displays. JLOOXTelecom provides a perfect fit for this kind of application as it includes off-of-the-shelf topology, equipment and inventory views, geographical maps, and overviews.

The product also provides techniques and tools to create business-specific interfaces and decision support front-ends. All components are based on a flexible open architecture, making integration and customization quick and extremely easy. For more information, see www.engenuitytech.com/.

Believe it or not, you can build the logic behind such interfaces in MS Excel.

KDCalc compiles Excel spreadsheets into executable code that can sit behind instrumentation interfaces for filtering, simulation, and control logic.

Then each interface control represents either an indicator or a user control. User controls feed data and settings into the data cells of the spreadsheet. Indicators display a visual representation of cell formula results. Coding interfaces with JLOOX and filter and simulation logic with Excel and KDCalc is a powerful combination that is many times faster than hand-coding.
