Java Industry News Jakarta Struts Edging Toward Milestone
Jakarta Struts Edging Toward Milestone

(June 5, 2003) - The Apache Jakarta Struts framework is finally moving to release Struts 1.1. The oft-delayed release, pending for over a year now, will go final around the end of June, if no new serious bugs show up. Release Candidate 2 will be released over the weekend preceding JavaOne, with two weeks of post-release testing built in. Struts could have been released several months ago, but by Apache rules, it could not go final until a number of packages in the Jakarta Commons hierarchy that it depended on also had point release. As it turned out, several of the packages were basically orphaned, and required members of the Struts team to step up and get them in shape. Also just released is a new version of the JavaServer Faces/Struts Integration Library, which corresponds to the new Early Access release of JSF. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
