Qosmos has announced new milestones in the detection of encrypted traffic and in protocol signature coverage. Qosmos latest software can accurately classify traffic encrypted with SSL/TLS (e.g., Google, Facebook, WhatsApp), P2P traffic (e.g., BitTorrent, MuTorrent, Vuze), and Skype, while preserving the privacy of communication content. These new classification techniques mean that traffic optimization, policy enforcement, and user experience are largely unaffected by encryption. In respect with subscriber privacy, communication service providers can continue to leverage network intelligence to ensure service quality and manage resource utilization. Qosmos offers the first classification and network intelligence technology on the market to support more than 2,600 protocol signatures ensuring accurate and detailed traffic analysis. "Qosmos remains the top choice for networking and security vendors who need to embed IP traffic classification software into their products," said Nicolas Bouthors, CTO at Qosmos. "Our goal is to keep our leadership in protocol detection, and at the same time strengthen classification of privacy-enabled protocols. This means that our customers can continue to leverage Qosmos inside their products for policy enforcement, traffic optimization and quality of experience." Qosmos is the de facto industry-standard for IP traffic classification software embedded in networking and security products. The company's technology identifies wire data in real time, providing a true picture of the traffic by identifying protocols up to the application level. Equipment makers, security specialists and data center software vendors widely use Qosmos to gain application visibility, accelerate time to market and benefit from continuous signature updates.
