Agilent and SoftWIRE Technology First to Provide T&M Solution for VS .NET

(June 24, 2003) - Agilent Technologies Inc. and SoftWIRE Technology will integrate the Agilent T&M Toolkit into SoftWIRE's graphical programming interface, providing the industry's first graphical test and measurement (T&M) solution for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. By using T&M Toolkit instrument-connectivity components, tools, and add-ins from SoftWIRE, programmers and nonprogrammers alike can create applications involving measurement instruments. The Agilent T&M Programmers Toolkit version 1.1 is an easy-to-use, open standard software development suite that supports both Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. The T&M Toolkit helps engineers boost productivity, reduce costs. and accelerate time to market by providing a simplified process to create, debug, and run T&M control software. The T&M Toolkit extends the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET platform with integrated software tools and components designed to communicate with, and configure, acquire, analyze and display data from test instruments and test systems. SoftWIRE is an open-standard graphical programming interface for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 that enables engineers to create managed code applications without writing complicated textual code. The combined new software tools are expected to be sold by SoftWIRE beginning in July 2003.
