(June 24, 2003) - Computer Associates (CA) has introduced Unicenter ServicePlus service aware, patent-pending technology that enables developers to embed self-management capabilities into applications built with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. With Unicenter ServicePlus service aware, developers can create Visual Studio .NET 2003 applications that automatically report service alerts to an enterprise help desk and initiate workflows that can automatically fix the problem. CA is providing templates as part of an open Web services architecture to enable and promote the creation of Unicenter ServicePlus service aware applications, and is working with companies such as Microsoft Corp. to embed this technology in their applications. Unicenter ServicePlus service aware is a key component of CA's managing on-demand computing strategy. By enabling devices and applications to proactively and automatically interact with the help desk, it embeds self-management into the on-demand computing infrastructure. This Unicenter ServicePlus service aware initiative embodies CA's strategy of engaging partners to leverage technology that benefits mutual customers. Unicenter ServicePlus Web services are published to industry standards and will continue to support evolving standards in this area. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
