The Road to a Cloud Adoption and Digital Transformation
In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises.
The first path is the heritage trail - with "legacy" technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a leader in the space, it's necessary to accommodate, incorporate, and exploit the new breed of enterprise technologies - cloud, Big Data, and APIs.
The second path is the road of the future and is much more agile, where teams are unburdened by tradition and fully immersed in state-of-the-art technologies and concepts (microservices, anyone?).
Companies must find a way to join both paths and view the transition to digital as a unified journey, with the end goal clearly defined, then utilize APIs to help them get there faster. The question then becomes, how can companies and developers leverage ESBs, APIs, and a Fast Data platform to cultivate innovation?
In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Leon Stigter, product manager at TIBCO Software, will explore this topic further, highlighting specific use cases and the true value that can be gained from the cloud and APIs in this quest. The session will be followed by a lively, open Q&A discussion.
