Recently named one of InfoWorld's Top 25 CTOs of 2007, Sarukkai leads the technology strategy and development for Securent. Prior to founding Securent, Sarukkai was the co-founder and CTO of Confluent Software, a leading web-services security and management company. When Confluent was acquired by Oblix (now part of Oracle), Sarukkai served as Oblix's technical evangelist and helped drive Oblix's move to a common SOA-enabled security architecture for all Oblix identity management and access products. Prior to Confluent/Oblix, Sarukkai was the chief architect for Hewlett-Packard's E-speak program, where he led efforts covering web-service programming models, routing, registries, and management. Prior to his E-speak work, Sarukkai worked at HP labs where he was granted many patents in the areas of parallel computing, dynamic load balancing, web caching, and one of the earliest patents on browsing the web using speech. Sarukkai holds a Master's degree and PhD in Computer Science from Indiana University.
