(June 19, 2002) - eXcelon Corporation has announced the latest release of its Stylus Studio XSLT Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Stylus Studio 4.0 enables development teams to deliver higher quality XML and XSLT applications faster by enabling developers to visually define XML Schema, and by providing advanced debugging support including XSLT debugging support for Apache Xalan J. Stylus Studio 4.0 is the industry's only XML/XSL IDE to provide complete debugging traceability between XSLT code and dependent templates. Ken Ledeen, chairman and CEO of Nevo Software, notes, "Stylus Studio continues to be the industry's only IDE with integrated XSLT and Java debugging and back-mapping, and the new debugging and ease of use functionality will enable us to produce even higher quality XML and XSL code while shortening our release cycles." XML Schema Diagram Editor Stylus Studio 4.0 contains a visual schema diagram editor, which reduces the complexity associated with creating and modifying XML Schema. By providing synchronized views of source XML Schema, a tree view and the XML Schema diagram, Stylus 4.0 enables developers to work with XML Schema at multiple levels, making XML Schema editing more accessible to a wider range of users. The Apache Xalan-J XSLT processor is a popular tool for deploying XML applications that utilize XSLT transformations. Stylus 4.0 now allows developers to debug these XSLT transformations interactively using the native Xalan-J processor. This provides Xalan-J developers with full debugging and back-mapping capabilities of Stylus Studio while ensuring predictable behavior of XSLT across development and deployment environments. Stylus Studio is the only XML/XSLT IDE with back-mapping, which associates a defect with the related piece of XSLT source code to automate the process of debugging XSLT applications. Stylus Studio 4.0 extends this capability beyond the XSLT source code to the templates that comprise the XSLT to ensure an even higher level of traceability. Stylus Studio is an industry-leading, award-winning integrated development environment for creating, validating, and debugging XSL stylesheets and XML-to-XML mappings. Used by over 20,000 developers worldwide, Stylus Studio delivers unprecedented productivity with visual editors for creating and validating DTD and XML Schema documents, a graphical mapper and its integrated XSLT, Java, and MSXML debugger with source-level debugging and back-mapping. Stylus Studio 4.0 is available immediately at a starting price of $399 for a single user license. To download a free trial version of Stylus Studio, please visit www.exln.com.
