Sun Microsystems' Java Desktop System is now available at Walmart.com on Microtel Computer Systems personal computers. With this launch, customers have the ability to choose from a number of Microtel configurations running the Java Desktop System, enabling them to find a solution that fits their computing needs. Prices range from $298 to $698 and are available with an AMD or Intel processor running at 1.6GHz to 3.0 gigahertz. The Java Desktop System/Microtel PC is available at www.walmart.com or at http://www.java.com/walmart. The Java Desktop System has quickly become one of the leaders in the alternative desktop computing market, delivering a familiar user environment, complete with robust tools that make creating documents, sending e-mail and browsing the Web safe and affordable. Since it began shipping in December 2003, there have been more than 1,500 ISVs, seven original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and thousands of users embracing the Java Desktop System. This new collaboration between Sun, Microtel, and Walmart.com extends the reach of affordable desktop computing out to the consumer market. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
