Websense Honored for Best Corporate Security Suite at Latin America Channel 2007 Awards
Websense Honored for Best Corporate Security Suite at Latin America Channel 2007 Awards

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/12/07 -- Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) announced today that its security software was named "Best Corporate Security Suite" at the fifth-annual Channel Awards 2007 ceremony which awarded the top solutions in information technology in Latin America.

Websense® Web Security Suite(TM) software, which protects businesses from known and emerging security threats, was named "Best Corporate Security Suite" by a panel of judges and evaluators who considered specific criteria, such as: technology used, total cost of ownership, ease and time of implementation, user support, speed and performance, and cost/benefit analysis.

"Websense is responding to the increasing number and sophistication of threats that take advantage of the ever-changing, dynamic and ubiquitous use of the Internet," said Adauto de Mello, Websense sales director for Latin America and the Caribbean. "This award recognizes many years of research and development, and our commitment to companies in Latin America that depend on Websense for protection from malicious attacks."

The annual Channel Awards recognize the best products in the information technology sector and were created by Grupo Editorial M.A., which publishes several publications including Compuchannel, Compudata, Digital Market, Negocio Inteligente and Infochannel. The Channel Awards 2007 ceremony was held on October 18, 2007, in Miami, Florida.

Websense Web Security Suite software is powered by ThreatSeeker(TM) technology, which provides preemptive protection from Web security threats, by scanning more than 600 million Web sites per week and categorizing Web sites to allow organizations to manage their Web security based on risk tolerance.

Websense received this award because of its distribution channels, as well as the integrators specialized in IT security, such as Etek International Corporation, an integrator with offices in various countries in Latin America. Etek collaborated with Websense to perform demonstrations and engineering tests of Websense Web Security Suite for the judges of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, who evaluated the product and gave it the highest rating.

"This International award validates the quality and security that this solution brings to the corporate environment to protect against the growing number of Web-based threats," said Websense customer Roberto Alcubilla, Corporate IT Manager, Manufactura de Papel C.A, MANPA.

In addition to the Channel Awards 2007, Websense has earned several other industry accolades for its partner-friendly channel efforts including the Ingram Micro 2007 Manufacturer Award of Excellence, CompTIA's "Best Solutions Sales Strategy" and VARBusiness's 5-Star Channel Partner Program Award. Websense's vice president of sales David Roberts was also singled out by CRN earlier this year as one of "Six Channel Executives You Should get to Know in 2007" and named one of CRN's Top Channel Chiefs for his ongoing efforts to consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.
