IBM Gobbles Up Danish IT Firms

Instead, the New York-based company has just agreed to buy two Danish companies - Maersk Data, the computer services unit of shipping giant A.P. Moeller-Maersk (the world's largest shipper) and DM Data, which is 45 percent owned by Maersk Data. The deal adds 3,700 employees to the payroll of IBM's ever-growing services division. "The purchase will increase IBM's capabilities in serving clients in the transportation and logistics industry globally," said Gillian Kenny, an IBM spokeswoman.
