Java Industry News Sun's Gosling Touts Java, Major Brazilian Group Joins JCP
"Father of Java" Talks about Building a Connected World

James Gosling, chief technology officer for Sun's Developer Platforms Group and globally recognized as the "Father of Java," keynoted at the Sun Tech Days event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, April 5-6, at the Hotel Gran Melia WTC Sao Paulo. Gosling presented an overarching message about "Java: Building the Connected World" to attendees at the event. Sun also announced at this event that SouJava, the largest Brazilian Java Users Group (JUG), became a member of the Java Community Process (JCP). SouJava, the Brazilian Java Users Society, is the first Java Users Group (JUG) to join the JCP. The group includes Java users and Java evangelists from Brazil whose objectives are to strengthen, expand and professionalize the use of Java technology in the country. Other Featured presentations at the Sao Paulo Tech Days event included: Attendees at Tech Days were offered a Sun Java Studio Creator developer program bundle special offer. This offer included Sun Java Studio Enterprise, Sun Java Studio Creator and a 90-day warranty and installation support for $995 USD. Sun Tech Days are designed to provide professional developers, programmers, Web developers, content providers, service providers and system integrators with technology, training and tools for enhancing the development of applications for the Internet, intranets and enterprise environments. The next Sun Tech Days event is scheduled for May 19-20 in Bangalore, India at the Bangalore Trade Centre.
