Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

About 82,000 new articles are now added to the database daily at http://www.dialognewsroom.com/ .

In the last 12 months, Dialog has added more than 3,000 new sources to the Dialog NewsRoom service, including most of the top 100 U.S. daily newspapers. Additionally, key journals are being added, including six magazines published by Time Inc. (a unit of Time Warner Inc.): Time, Fortune, Money, Sports Illustrated, People and Entertainment Weekly.

Other new content includes 21 regional and local daily newspapers from across the United States published by the Gannett Company, making Dialog NewsRoom one of the most comprehensive U.S. news offerings in the industry. Additional sources include publications and news services from Australia and Asia, enhancing the service for international business.

"We believe Dialog NewsRoom is the best aggregated news and business intelligence service available in the professional information services marketplace," said Cheryl Curran, Dialog NewsEdge senior vice president, strategic marketing. "It has a broad, diverse and continually growing content collection, plus tools and features to help searchers find the precise news reporting they need and then share it with others in their enterprises."

Dialog NewsRoom's 11,000 sources include newspapers, newswires, specialty newsletters, broadcast transcripts, trade media and scholarly journals, drawn from 130 countries in English and 13 other languages. More than 90 percent of the sources are active, with new reporting added shortly after first publication. Many of the sources are archived up to 30 years.

The Dialog NewsRoom content collection also is indexed by 855,000 SmartTerms(SM), the underlying taxonomy (or indexing system) used in the database, producing more targeted results.

NEW & IMPROVED FEATURES

Dialog also said today that it has enhanced Dialog NewsRoom with a number of new and improved functionality features, among them:

- Public and Private folders, added for more control over document sharing across a department or enterprise. Documents in public folders are available to all authorized users. - A new shopping cart, enabling users to save or print a list of retrieved articles in a batch, improving user's workflow and saving valuable time. - A summary of search criteria, now displayed above the title list with complete details of the most recent search completed.
