SugarCRM has pushed out a closed beta of Sugar Data Center Edition (DCE), a new product line, due this summer, described as a complete set of system management provisioning and monitoring tools so service providers and large organizations can deploy and handle multiple instances – as in distinct versions of SugarCRM meant to serve the different needs of different business units – from a central console.
There are two versions: one for partners, one for customers. The reseller widgetry can deliver SugarCRM as a service.
Pricing would be tiered for resellers, like BT. Say increments of 5,000, 10,000, 15,000 users.
The company claims other SaaS players like Netsuite and Salesforce are channel-prohibitive and has taken that for an opening.
SugarCRM has about 3,500 commercial customers with an average
25 users. Scads of free copies have been downloaded.
