Salesforce Posts Strong Quarter
Salesforce.com Said It Generated More Than a Quarter Billion Dollars Of Operating Cash In the Last 12 Months

SaaS poster child Salesforce.com did $247.6 million in revenues, up 52%, returning $9.6 million, or eight cents a share, up sevenfold, in the quarter ended April 30.
It said it generated more than a quarter billion dollars of operating cash in the last 12 months and preened that it was the first software-as-a-service company to exceed $950 million in annual revenue run rate.
Subscription and support revenues were $225.3 million, an increase of 53%. Professional services and other revenues were $22.3 million, an increase of 51%.
Net paying customers rose roughly 2,600 during he quarter to, say, 43,600, up around 11,300 year-over-year.
However, deferred revenue was approximately $470 million, an increase of 59% year-over-year but a decline of 2% quarter-over-quarter. Salesforce chalked it up to seasonality.
The company raised its full-year guidance to $1.06 billion-$1.065 billion, up from $1 billion-$1.02 billion, with earnings of 33 cents-34 cents.
