CSC Awarded $199 Million Blanket Purchase Agreement From the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems
CSC Awarded $199 Million Blanket Purchase Agreement From the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Syste

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that it has signed a blanket purchase agreement with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) for the Product Lifecycle Management Plus (PLM+) program. The estimated value of the agreement to the company is approximately $199 million over 57 months.

Under the agreement, CSC will serve as the prime contractor for PLM+. The CSC-led team will provide the Army warfighter with a Single Army Logistics Environment that integrates the Army's field logistics system with its national logistics system. PLM+ will also serve as the single point of entry to this integrated logistics information environment for all external customers to the Army.

The integration and the implementation of PLM+ will provide the Army with end-to-end business processes and comprehensive information about all of the Army's products throughout their lifecycle. CSC is in the process of deploying the national logistics system, the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), to the Army Materiel Command and has already implemented the LMP to support nearly 5,000 users at 12 locations. The company's LMP work will be the foundation for PLM+ efforts, which will bring together users involved in product development, manufacturing and customer service in one shared environment.

"This program is a natural extension of the Logistics Modernization Program work we've accomplished to modernize Army business processes and configure them using an enterprise resource application," said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's Federal Sector business unit. "Under the PLM+ agreement, we will leverage our experience developing LMP interfaces to deliver results in the form of a common set of business practices encompassing both the tactical and national levels. PLM+ is the lynchpin for the Army in providing a single, integrated logistics environment, and it will help ensure that the Army has the right equipment in the right place at the right time."

Systems engineers, systems designers, program management professionals, SAP consultants and functional subject matter experts from CSC's Federal Consulting practice and Defense Integrated Solutions & Services division will perform the work beginning on Feb. 28, 2005, primarily in the Fort Belvoir, Va., area.

Teaming with CSC are Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Reston, Va.; IBM, Armonk, N.Y.; Digital Fusion, Huntsville, Ala.; and SAP, Walldorf, Germany.

PEO EIS provides joint service and Army warfighters with information dominance by developing, acquiring, integrating, deploying and sustaining network-centric knowledge. This is based on information technology (IT) and business management systems, communications and infrastructure solutions through leveraged commercial and enterprise capabilities that support the total Army, everyday and anywhere.
