Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

MyEclipse Delivers Advanced AJAX Tools for Ganymede
7.0 Milestone Release Delivers Full ALM Capabilities for Eclipse 3.4, Provides Enhanced Reporting Tools

Genuitec announced the availability of MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 7.0 milestone 1. This milestone release delivers advanced AJAX tooling for Java EE and full Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) capabilities for Eclipse 3.4 Ganymede, among other enhancements.

"We're in a constant state of delivery," said Wayne Parrott, vice president of technology for Genuitec. "Our release cycles are so close together - usually every six to eight weeks - it allows us to give our user base the most recent technologies and platform enhancements with unmatched turnaround times."

In keeping with their quick-delivery traditions, Genuitec is providing users an even faster way to acquire MyEclipse 7.0 M1 and Eclipse Ganymede through Pulse, Genuitec's software profiling and Eclipse plugin management service. The Pulse service was popular with those users acquiring the base Eclipse Ganymede projects, leading Genuitec to provide this option to users wishing to download this milestone release. The milestone is available in the Ganymede "Popular Profiles" area.

"Pulse is hands-down the easiest way to get Eclipse software; that's why continue to sponsor its development and free access," said Todd Williams, vice president of technology for Genuitec. "We're implementing its use with this release of MyEclipse in order to ensure quick and reliable delivery of the product to our customers, while allowing them to incorporate their favorite third-party tools."

In addition to Eclipse Ganymede support and MyEclipse AJAX for JEE tooling, MyEclipse 7.0 M1 includes a greatly improved set of JSF and Reporting tools among other enhancements.

Genuitec will release a second milestone of the 7.0 product in approximately six weeks, and has the general availability release of MyEclipse 7.0 slated for early October.

New users can try the first milestone of MyEclipse 7.0 for a free 30-day trial, and as always, current subscribers can utilize the update at no charge. MyEclipse Standard and Professional Editions are $30 and $60 per year, respectively. They are available at www.myeclipseide.com
