Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

'The Rise of Atlantis' is Delivered Exclusively to Verizon Wireless Customers while 'Escape!' and 'Twinkle Town' Become the Latest Titles to come to America through SkyZone's Asian Gateway Program

SAN FRANCISCO, BASKING RIDGE, N.J., and FORT LEE, N.J., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- From CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008 in San Francisco, Verizon Wireless, builder and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network, and SkyZone Entertainment, Inc. today announced "The Rise of Atlantis(TM)," "Escape!" and "Twinkle Town" are now available to Verizon Wireless customers.

For the first time on mobile, "The Rise of Atlantis," SkyZone's popular online game, is available exclusively to Verizon Wireless customers. In "The Rise of Atlantis" players explore Atlantis and the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as they navigate through elaborate animated maps to help solve a system of puzzles that bring players closer to raising the fabled ancient city of Atlantis from its aquatic grave. Addictive tile-swapping puzzle action and a networked high-score feature keep customers entertained while they compete against each other to become the best explorer in the world.

"Escape!" and "Twinkle Town" are being made available through SkyZone's Asian Gateway Program that provides Verizon Wireless customers with innovative mobile gaming content from South Korea. Currently, more than a half dozen titles have been localized and published in North America through this initiative.

"Escape!" features a conspiracy theory-themed storyline where players awake in a secret corporate lab to discover their memories have been erased, and they are being held captive as test subjects at an unknown agency's headquarters. Players must collect useful items to help them escape before it is too late by uncovering clues and solving puzzles along the way.

In "Twinkle Town" players must re-connect a series of disconnected wires that together light up a town. Through 24 intense levels, players must use assigned keys to send a jolt of lightning into the town and light up all of the darkened homes, avoiding any breaks in the string of lights. Additionally, players must find and use special items to light up the entire line of light bulbs to speed up the process.

Verizon Wireless customers can purchase and download "The Rise of Atlantis," "Escape!" and "Twinkle Town" in the Games shopping aisle in the Get It Now(R) or Media Center virtual store on a number of popular phones from Verizon Wireless, including the Voyager(TM) by LG, LG Chocolate(TM) 3, Samsung Gleam(TM) and MOTORAZR(2) V9m. Customers can download "The Rise of Atlantis" or "Escape!" for $2.99 monthly access or $6.99 for unlimited use purchase. "Twinkle Town" is available for $2.49 monthly access or $6.49 for unlimited use purchase. Each game also offers customers a complimentary three-minute demo. Application purchase prices and subscription fees may vary; unless customers have unlimited data features, airtime or megabyte charges may also apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications.
