Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Radware Takes OnDemand Switch(TM) Platforms to the Next Level
Roll-Out of Next-Generation Application Delivery Platforms Provides Customers With Full Investment Protection, Breakthrough Performance and Increased Service Scalability

MAHWAH, New Jersey, October 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced that the company is building on its Business Smart Data Center strategy by continuing to roll out its OnDemand Switch(TM) platforms - with the introduction of its OnDemand Switch 3 next-generation application delivery platform offering throughput of up to 16 Gbps and its new version of AppDirector, integrating new on demand application acceleration services.

In today's difficult economy budgeting, capacity planning and return on investment are capturing center stage. Enterprises, large and small, are looking for ways to advance their datacenters to serve business requirements whilst reducing costs to save money. Radware's OnDemand Switch platform family is the ideal answer

Radware's OnDemand Switch was specifically designed to ensure long-term savings whilst providing customers with breakthrough performance, superior throughput and service scalability. This platform provides the most comprehensive throughput coverage available on the market today offering 0-16 Gbps and is setting a new standard in the ADC marketplace by providing customers with a new, pay-as-you-grow, hassle-free upgradeable and flexible solution - dramatically reducing TCO and eliminating the risk of poor capacity planning.

"Within weeks of the initial product launch, we closed our first OnDemand Switch transaction with a US airline. Our customer was impressed with the new platform's performance, scalability and most of all the easy-license upgrade approach, which minimizes the impact on their IT resources," stated Norm Shockley, CEO Adeara. "The OnDemand Switch pay-as-you grow flexibility will help us win more load balancing business in a market where recession fears are making technology buyers more conservative."

The newest addition to Radware's OnDemand Switch platform family, the OnDemand Switch 3 features the same operability features as the OnDemand Switch 1 & 2 - allowing for operation simplicity. This new platform provides extendable throughput of up to 16 Gbps for unparalleled scalability and business availability. The OnDemand Switch 3 has been designed specifically for large enterprises and carriers that operate in dynamic, ever-changing environments and face diverse requirements. Customers can easily scale their ADC throughput capacity and add advanced application acceleration services on demand to meet these new or changing application and infrastructure needs - without compromising on performance or reliability and with a simple software license upgrade - which translates into increased cost-savings and lower TCO.

"Radware's on demand approach provides investment protection without adding the risk of costly forklift upgrades, enabling our customers to easily scale both throughput and services as needed to align their business needs and existing or next-generation data centers," stated Yaron Bielous, Vice President Product Management. "Furthermore, to obtain high level throughput and reliability capabilities, customers need only deploy one Radware OnDemand Switch as opposed to 2-4 comparable units form the competition, representing additional savings."

Radware's new version of AppDirector, available on the OnDemand Switches 1 & 2, allows customers to now scale essential application acceleration services on demand in addition to Layer 4-7 services on the same device. Acceleration services include: caching; TCP optimization; web compression, and SSL offloading with up to 30,000 TPS, which represents a 7x better cost per TPS than the leading competitor. The result is that the number of servers and bandwidth consumption can easily be reduced while performance is accelerated, therefore helping customers save extensively on capital and operational expenditures while improving productivity. Additionally, this new version of AppDirector is environmentally friendly with superior performance per watt (PPW) - providing savings on rack space, power and cooling (e.g., kWh, MBTU), thus, enabling companies to achieve their green IT objectives.
