Taking data storage, scalability and application performance to a nifty level using SOA Application Grid infrastructure will no doubt enhance data and application performance on Oracle architecture platforms, it also has the promise of a cost effective and efficient IT delivery model. Webcor's Phil Williams to Join Navitas Capital's Advisory Board

BERKELEY, Calif. and SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Navitas Capital and Webcor Builders today announced a strategic relationship for future collaboration in driving sustainability in the built environment.

"Webcor's leadership in and commitment to green construction makes them an extremely valuable partner. As the largest general contractor in California and a strong leader in sustainable construction, Webcor is a driving force in the adoption of green building practices nationwide," said Navitas Managing Partner James Pettit.

Under the agreement, Webcor will assist Navitas in identifying, evaluating and incubating innovative building materials and advanced technologies focused on green building practices. When appropriate, Navitas will provide venture capital and strategic assistance to green building companies with a significant process or technology innovation.

"Webcor is committed to building projects of superior quality and value. We share with Navitas the common goal of accelerating new, high-performance methods of construction through continuous innovation. We look forward to a successful long-term relationship with Navitas," said Andy Ball, President/CEO of Webcor.

As a part of the agreement, Webcor's Phil Williams will be joining Navitas Capital's Advisory Board. Williams heads both Webcor's Sustainability and Systems Engineering groups as a Vice President and is the Chairman of San Francisco Mayor's Green Building Task Force. With an extensive background in sustainable building, Williams is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in California, a LEED Accredited Professional and is an active member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), Center for the Built Environment (CBE), Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV), and Business Council on Climate Change (BC3).

"We are well past the tipping point at Webcor with respect to 'going green.' Sustainability has become a fundamental and integral part of our philosophy at Webcor -- with LEED certified construction representing over 75% of our current project revenues," said Phil Williams. "I look forward to collaborating with Navitas Capital on identifying and advocating break-through green technologies and driving sustainability in the built environment."
